IDEAS FUNNEL PHASES VS INNOVATION ORGANIZATION COMPETENCIES

The ideas funnel represents, through its three phases, the different activities and thus the different needed innovation organization team competencies and skills set....So we can use the ideas funnel to identify the needed skills and competencies based on the nature of each phase. In the Get Phase, we need to focus more on innovation management and open innovation management knowledge and skills. In the Build Phase, our main focus is more toward new product development management, incubation & acceleration management. In the Grow Phase, our main focus is toward technology commercialization, growth hacking and business architecture. All over the three phases we have a set of common knowledge areas which can be either replicated as a required skills set for each phase or we can have a transversal team providing it. This set of Skills includes, user centric and Design Thinking, Intellectual Property Management, Venture & Public Funding, Business Development and Customer Interfacing.

The Get Phase can be linked to the standardize phase. The Implement phase can be linked to the Build phase. The Integrate phase can be linked to the Grow Phase. The Strategize is to be considered as the initial transversal phase which is the core cornerstone for all other phases.
